Decent working conditions and economic growth
SDG 8 is twofold for us as it concerns us both as a buyer of goods and services and as an employer.

SKAGEN has long worked to be an attractive workplace. We measure employee engagement and satisfaction every month and implement measures based on this.
SKAGEN carefully follows all applicable laws and regulations. We support employees' right to organise. Over the years, we have taken extra steps to ensure a stable and motivated workforce, including flexible working hours, to guarantee a good work-life balance. Our strategy also includes strengthening ongoing professional development for all employees. It also includes employees who want to move within the organisation via our internal labour market.
SKAGEN has a responsibility to ensure that our practice is sustainable. In the future, we will increase our efforts to ensure that the products we buy do not harm the environment, contribute to unfair working conditions, or violate human rights.
Important measures include:
- Compulsory training in ethics, AML, GDPR and anti-corruption
- Monthly employee satisfaction surveys
- Fairtrade-certified flowers and coffee only
- Increased focus on balance between work and leisure
